Guest speakers include:

Dr. Louis M. French - Walter Reed Army Medical Center, NY, USA.
           Dr. French received his doctorate in clinical psychology, focused on assessment, from the George Washington University. He completed fellowships in clinical and experimental neuropsychology at the National Institute of Mental Health and in neuropsychology, focusing on traumatic brain injury, at the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He is currently the TBI Service Chief at the hospital and site director for the DVBIC at Walter Reed, where he oversees operations related to the identification and treatment of individuals with traumatic brain injury. He has served on a number of Federal institutions and Department of Defense panels on issues in traumatic brain injury, including the Army Surgeon General’s Taskforce on TBI -He is a frequent speaker on issues of traumatic brain injury in the military- and is a principal investigator on six studies of TBI in returning Service Members. He is Professor of Neurology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.


Dr. John Violanti - University of Buffalo, NY, USA.
            John M. Violanti, Ph.D. is a research professor in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine (SPM), School of Public Health and Health Professions at the State University of New York in Buffalo and a member of the University of Buffalo medical school graduate faculty. He is a police veteran; serving with the New York State Police for 23 years as a state trooper, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), and later as a coordinator for the Psychological Assistance Program (EAP) for the New York State Police Department. Dr. Violanti conducts clinical research on a host of law enforcement, health, and wellness issues for the University of Buffalo Department of Social Work and Preventative Medicine. In addition to his research, Dr. Violanti has written and edited several books relating to stress and trauma. Prior to his present work with the University of Buffalo, John was a full professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York for fifteen years.

Dr. Mathieu Guidère - University of Geneva, Switzerland.
            Dr. Mathieu Guidère is a full professor at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and a senior fellow at the Center for Advanced Defense Studies in Washington, D.C. As a leading scientist on cognitive linguistics, he was awarded a Fulbright Prize for the "Radicalization Watch Project" (RWP). Prior to his present work with the University of Geneva, Mathieu was a full professor at the French Military Academy (Saint-Cyr), where he also he chaired the Strategic Information Analysis Unit. He also headed several research projects to develop new research strategies based on in-depth analysis of discourse and data. Since 2007, Dr. Guidère leads a research network on logic, mind, and language. He has authored several works including Lone Terrorim: from Bin Laden to Jihad Jane (Paris: Autrement), Al Qaeda Recruitment Manual (Paris: Seuil), Iraq in Translation (Paris: Jacob-Duvernet), and Multilingual Strategic Monitoring (Paris: Le Manuscrit).

Dr. Newton HowardMIT Mind Machine Project, Boston, USA.
            Dr. Newton Howard is the director of the Mind Machine Project and a resident scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He received his Doctoral Degree in Cognitive Informatics and Mathematics from University of Paris 1- La Sorbonne (France) where he was also awarded the “HDR” (Habil.) for his leading work on the Physics of Cognition (PoC) and its applications to complex medical, economical, and security equilibriums. While a graduate at the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Oxford, England, he proposed the Theory of Intention Awareness (IA). He also held positions as a professor of Mathematics and Psychiatry at George Washington University where he established leading academic programs which were directed to solve real-world problems.
